⚠️ Fraud Alert: Fake Parking Ticket Text Messages

We’ve had reports of scam text messages claiming you have unpaid parking tickets and asking you to click a link or provide payment details.

What you need to know:

These messages are fraudulent and designed to steal your personal or financial information.

Legitimate authorities will never ask for payment via text message or send links for immediate payment.

Personal Example:
I personally received one of these messages on Christmas Day – it even wished me Merry Christmas before asking me to pay an “unpaid parking fine.” This shows how convincing and opportunistic these scams can be.

What to do if you receive one:

Do NOT click any links or share personal details.

Report the message by forwarding it to 7726 (free of charge).

Delete the message after reporting.

Stay alert and protect yourself from scams. If in doubt, contact the official parking authority directly using their verified contact details.
